RAND Worldwide located its European Headquarters in Dublin, opening the operation in April this year. The Canadian based company plans to hire approximately 100 new employees in the high tech industry in the next three years to aid its expansion. Mary Harney, T.D., Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, welcoming the investment, said, "over 75% of the jobs will be filled by graduates of the mechanical engineering and computer science faculties. Multiple language skills will be a prerequisite for those working in the technical support centre. After reviewing several locations, RAND Worldwide chose Dublin due to the excellent communications network and the availability of skilled people."
By lowering product development costs and reducing the time required to bring new products to market, the RAND Worldwide integrated-solutions approach has helped over 10,000 customers globally to become more competitive and profitable. In addition to its Mechanical Design Automation solutions, RAND Worldwide offers a portfolio of internally developed software and professional services that make its customers' mission-critical systems more robust and efficient.
To further the company's "knowledge solutions" positioning, the Dublin headquarters has developed a state-of-the-art training facility that offers a wide range of CAD/CAM and other Engineering related programs.
Frank Baldesarra, the RAND Worldwide President and Chief Operations Officer said, "The people here have truly made this a wonderful experience and we are very excited about centralizing our European operations here."
